About Mooviestats

Mooviestats is a movie and TV diary.

It's a place where you can log the movies and tv-shows you watched and enjoy some nifty little charts and statistics based on your viewing habits.

You can follow your friends and receive notifications about what they've been watching.

You can even create a watchlist and add tags to the movies you add so you don't forget why you wanted to watch them in the first place! Those same tags can be used to filter your watchlist, along with genres, release dates, and more!

History of Mooviestats

Mooviestats was created by Wouter De Bruycker. On a personal level, Wouter loved (and still loves) watching movies, and for some reason he also very much likes lists, charts, and all sorts of data visualisations. At the time he was a web-developer, and so the idea was born to create a website on which it's possible to log the movies you watch and get some cool data about those movies in return.

After brainstorming with some friends, the name Mooviestats came to be.

Development started in September of 2014 and the full public launch took place at December 1st 2014.

The main features of Mooviestats are completely free to use and the website doesn't hinder its users with annoying popups or banners. Since it's a completely self-funded project though, there is an option to make a donation in return for becoming a Premium Member and getting some cool extra features. Since keeping the site up and running isn't free, donations are highly appreciated.
